Judge.me’s new verification policy is a big step backward for merchants. Unless a customer clicks the exact review link in their email, their review won’t appear as “verified” — even if the purchase was made with the same email address they used to write the review. In reality, many happy customers return to the site later to leave feedback, and now those legitimate reviews are unfairly flagged as unverified. To make matters worse, Judge.me places a badge on storefronts stating that some reviews are “not verified,” which undermines trust despite the fact that these are genuine purchases. Previously, Judge.me would manually review and confirm these cases, but they’ve discontinued that process to cut costs. At the same time, they’re dropping support for platforms like WooCommerce and scaling back their dev team. What once felt like a company committed to trust and authenticity now feels like one prioritizing cost savings over its original mission. While the app itself has some strengths, the recent cutbacks and policy changes are troubling. With Judge.me holding near-monopoly status in the review space, it’s difficult for merchants to switch away — yet the company continues scaling back support and raising prices. That combination is concerning for any business relying on reviews to build credibility.

Really good app for collecting reviews. I'm on the free plan and it sends out review requests automatically and gets me reviews. Abraão also helped me out when I had issues and he was very patient with me and I got everything resolved. Popular app for a reason.

Auch wenn die App sonst keine schlechten Funktionen haben mag, haben wir uns so sehr darüber geärgert, dass wir sie vorerst nicht weiter benutzen möchten.

judge.me is a very practical app for managing customer reviews directly integrated with Shopify. The integration with Klaviyo makes it easy to automate review requests and personalize emails, which is a real plus. I had issues with the in-store form and it not allowing for scrolling, so my customers could not leave a review while in my website. The Judge.me team took a look at my website and realized that I accidentally had two review widgets on my page, creating the issue. After a 5 minute fix, the form was back working! I migrated away from Stamped.io after they eliminated their free tier. As it turns out, I'm going to be paying for a review software anyway because Judge.me is so darn good! First of all, the import process was a cakewalk. So easy. Also I want to mention that having the settings interface right in Shopify instead of opening an external page is SO NICE. Then I started a chat with their customer service because there were some things that I wanted to look a certain way. They helped me by not only adjusting my templates and writing custom CSS to accomplish the things I was looking to do, but also went so far as to do some custom widget HTML/CSS so I could move the review carousel as a block on my home page - something my super ancient theme was not able to do. So yeah, I will be subscribing to their paid version. I could not justify it for stamped.io, but after using Judge.me, seeing the features that would actually be useful, and working with their customer service I feel like their paid tier is absolutely worth it.
