Works perfectly. We were awaiting a shipment of products and the Early Bird app ensured we could effectively manage stock, customer expectations and orders seamlessly, saving us $1000s in potentially lost revenue. In addition, the customer service was absolutely fantastic, with the team being super responsive and able to help us immediately, even recoding our website slightly to enable certain tweaks we wanted to make. The ONLY downside is not a problem with the app but a problem with Shopify itself - a customer doesn't find out that they are placing a back order unless current stock is zero, so if there is 1 item left but the customer orders 2 or more, it goes through as a regular order without the back-order tag. Again, this is not a flaw of this app, all apps in this category will have this same limitation. Just including it here for transparency.

I'm new to Shopify and was looking for a simple, efficient way to manage backorders in my online store. Early Bird came highly recommended by a ton of people, so I got the app and started playing around. I wasn't sure I set up my pre-order campaigns and backorders correctly in my theme, so I reached out for help. I was surprised and delighted that one of the co-founders and developers of the app responded and was able to quickly correct the parts I messed up! Awesome app and wonderful customer service. Highly recommend!

I use the back in stock and preorder sections of this app every week, I recommend my customers to click "notify" on items that i've sold out of to indicate where i should spend my money ordering. Excellent value, very happy with the performance i'm experiencing.

Fairly easy to set up, worked as expected. Sounds trivial, but that's a huge deal in todays vast ecosystem of 'apps' and add-ons. The support has been spot on, attentive, and incredibly helpful. We've only been using the solution for a brief period of time, but anticipate making this an integral part of our future product launch strategies.

Early bird has worked great for our two online stores - as we both make to order, and hold stock, we needed a way to show the customer what was "made to order" and available for immediate shipping, which Early Bird does perfectly. Early Bird fitted the use case I had perfectly. It can handle out of stock requests but more importantly for us, it allowed me to target individual products and create campaigns to build pre sales. I had full control over how this worked and the customer support is second to none. We have been using Shopify and associated apps for 6 years now and Early Bird have been one of the best to date. We needed an app that could help us handle partial payments for add-on products along with the main product. The best and easiest to navigate for those looking for a pre-order system. I am a small fashion label based in Brisbane Australia, it was so exciting to see a fellow Brisbane business! So beyond grateful the the fantastic customer service that came alongside downloading Early Bird, they helped me integrate it into my store and answered any and all questions I had. Brilliant app, easy to use, and the customer service is above and beyond. The sales were instant from the first day we started our first campaign. Three campaigns in and the sales have been great We have had zero negative feedback from any of our customers, so they've also found it clear and simple to use. I'm very excited to see what we can achieve going forward with this app, in terms of back in stock notifications and preorders. Wish I'd found it sooner.

It will let the customer purchase into zero and negative amounts without indicating that any purchase of an item when the inventory goes from zero or below will be a backorder. Basically, if a product has an inventory of 1 it will allow the customer to purchase 4, in a single order, without indicating that 3 will be a backorder. The customer is left unaware that 3 items are not in stock, and we the merchants are stuck dealing with this. They require you to check "continue selling when out of stock" to enable the backorder function but did not take into account going zero or below in inventory on a single purchase. Not to mention Google lists your products in stock when inventory is zero or below because of the "continue selling when out of stock" requirement to use the backorder function.

This app is almost perfect... was easy to install, has great functions for setting up pre-orders and back in stock notifications and the support team is super responsive. However, the only way for customers to place pre-orders is through our website - there is no straightforward way to take phone or in-person pre-orders and all pre-orders must be paid for using credit card (gift cards are blocked and debit cards are not a payment option through our website). The app does not work with the order creation tools in Shopify admin nor does it work with Shopify POS. As a result, we've had customers annoyed as they don't understand how we are not able to take their phone or in-person pre-orders. To be fair, the Early Bird developers say these are Shopify system limitations. So, Shopify, if you are listening: stores that have both online and in-store sales channels need to be able to serve their customers properly. Limiting apps like this is very frustrating, since it is clear that many Shopify customers use the POS app alongside the web tools.

"Your products are marked as unavailable for the Buy Button channel." "Error enabling availability. Try again" Here is a direct quote from the two week Shopify investigation into a full lost week of sales in the lead up to Christmas (aka the best time for ecommerce in the year): "The issue you encountered with your store was related to the Early Bird app. As previously shared, based on our logs, this is the only app that was installed and modified your product. This app changed the subscription settings for your product, which affected its availability across different sales channels, including the Buy Button channel." THIS APP IS MALWARE - STAY AWAY FROM IT ONE DEFINITION OF RANSOMWARE: "a type of malware that permanently blocks access to the victim's personal data unless a "ransom" is paid." Didn't work as required, changed all my product settings (without me knowing) and when I uninstalled it found a way to make the settings permanent and cost me way more in sales by disabling customer checkout and payments than it promised to make unless I signed up to their subscription even though it doesn't bloody work.
