When we release an update, only a small proportion of customers are receiving an email notification and the updated files aren’t being displayed within their account.

Leider können Kunden (nicht wie vom Entwickler und den Einstellmöglichkeiten versprochen) über ihren Account in den Bestellungen nicht auf die erworbenen Produkte zurückgreifen und die Daten aus der Bestellübersicht herunterladen. Dies funktioniert nur über den Link in der E-Mail. So können wir nicht den Kundenservice bieten, den wir uns für unsere Kunden wünschen würden. Supporttickets werden ohne Hilfe geschlossen. Es wird dabei darauf verwiesen, dass man die Bestellungen manuell bearbeiten solle und die E-Mails nicht automatisiert (direkt mit der Bestellung) versendet werden sollen. Für uns ist der Shop daher gerade nicht nutzbar.

It works great. My customers can easily download the files via mail. However, that's the one part I don't like. I want to have a direct download button within the confirmation page, so customers can download it right away instead of having to go to their mail.

I loved this app. But it stopped working randomly one day last week and none of my customers were getting links to their downloads.

Like many others, this app was working fine then randomly stopped working. We need to move to something else.

I LOVED this app until it stopped working in Dec 2024. I can not upload my digitals to my products. It was sooo easy to use. Much easier than the other digital download products available. I wish you all would fix the app. Would make my day and business so much easier.

First time I used it, I muddled my way through, 2nd time was difficult, third time, even harder, I can't get the order to go over to the digital download side, so have manually sent a link to download it Have asked for support, but find support quite slow, they seem to spend more time writing niceities, than just helping. I wouldn't recommend, hopefully there is a better option out there, as this is frustrating. I have an urgent order and I can't get it to work. Was then told that the app developers are working on "crucial bugs" and to try sky pilot or another paid app instead, if shopify no longer care about keeping their apps working. remove them so their customers don't use them and then look like idiots to their customers when it doesn't work.

Very easy to install and implement. I did it in under 5 minutes for my eBook. Did a test purchase and the email was automatically sent to me with the correct download link. No complaints so far -- I guess they fixed the update bug by now. Thank you Shopify!

this app was working fine then randomly stopped working. I can't get in touch with anyone and support tells me "it's been escalated" but it's been 5 days so far and still nothing. All of this is currently happening on black Friday weekend and NONE of my orders are fulfilled. I need to reach out to each customer individually to manually send them what they purchased. I can see that the app "requires an update by app developer" but support was not able to find that (I found it myself) and as of day 5 this is STILL not fixed.

Basically stopped functioning properly ( No link on checkout page and random emails to customers with download links if they are lucky). Support said they are not continuing to support the app - would be nice to have been told before you upload thousands of digital files. They suggested using a few other 3rd party apps on their store - all of which are more to subscribe too than my actually shopify plan. Appalling and I will be looking at a new platform such as Payhip which looks after its customers way better. They need to do the right thing and fix the very basis problem such as giving customers a doenload link - not rocket science.

We used this app to sell Ebooks and Ebook bundles in our store. We were able to uses this app last year with no issues. Recently, we tried to do the same but did not have success. The save button would spin and spin without any chance of being able to save. It really messed with our plans to sell these products before a specific date.

1. MAY NOT SEND LINK. 2. NO CONFIRMATION PAGE LINK. Details: 1. May not get link: We have checkout>order updates> enabled for sms OR email. If customers checkout with sms, they will NEVER get an EMAILED download link. We would have to eliminate order updates by sms to require an email be added to the order. We have several customers that rely on text order updates so this is not a viable solution. 2. No confirmation page link: It does not appear AT ALL on the order confirmation page DESPITE being ACTIVE in the Digital Download app settings. Just wasted my time for over an hour with Shopify help - here is a quote from help: "I wanted to share with you that the download link is sometimes not appearing on the order confirmation page, which is expected behavior." No, dude. That IS NOT at all expected behavior.

Don't hope for a good experience with this app. The 1 star reviews tell you everything you need to know, and stay clear! This app will not display a download link on the order confirmation page. Only an email will be sent. So many horror stories. Look elsewhere.

Was hesitant after reading some of the reviews but after putting through some sales in test mode it has worked for me so far. It didn't provide a download link at Checkout (even though I have that option checked in the settings) but an email came through very quickly with the download link which worked fine. The other plus point is the file size limit being 5Gb which I doubt I will ever need but it's nice to know i'm not restricted like in some other apps.

Soon after I switched to Shopify with all my customers, they stopped the support for the digital downloads app. I had many chats with the customer service, with different feedback. Some said I should look around for an additional app, others said, they appreciate the ...

Works fine for me. After they pay it provides the Download LINK on the thank you page. It is just not sending an email with the download links. So its still functional.

Absolutely dreadful, do not use. It has been generating all kinds of bogus emails to my customers. Very embarrassing.

There's no protection on the download link, so anyone can download the files without needing to register or buy them. They can also be copied and shared in chats and on social media.

The good point is it's using Shopify domain to send emails, which has a good reputation and avoid your download emails to end in the junk. The other good thing is the fact that your files are hosted on the Shopify server and you have a use limitation per download (5gb). On the other end, the app needs some necessary improvement : a file manager to avoid duplicates, fix the download on purchase page...

This app is complete balls, customers cant even login to view their product so if the initial email is lost the product is lost. complete shite just use sky pilot if ur strapped for cash.
