They raised the pricing by double without announcing it. Is there also a bigger benefit ? I found nothing.

I am so angry and annoyed at this back app. I had to restore all my collections and when I did I noticed all the manual sort orders were not there any longer for over 1500 products - reason - just as other poor reviews of this app state they said "due to Shopify’s API limitations not sharing this information". This app KNOWS of the the things which Shopify is not sharing with it as when there is an issue - you are clearly told this when you have an issue restoring. But only then! There needs to be a much better upfront list of what is not backed up as this app is putting you in a complete false sense of security with its fancy weekly emails which lead you to believe everything is being backed up. Well.. the reality is you'll only learn of what is not being backed up when you try and restore. I regret using the app now as the very first time I have needed to use ti - the money invested in having it has not paid off. So I feel it's a waste of time. I could have manually backed up the elements this site is not backing up - if I has been told about them. Very poor on the part of this site. In this situation both Shopify and Rewind Backups were equally useless. Please be aware to quiz this app on what is not being backed up and don't be fooled by all the glossy sales copy from them.

Bad app. They more than doubled the price without any warning !!! Shady Shady way of running a business. Was difficult to unsubscribe. Not any guide on their site how to do it. No humans at their chat service. Regrets to have subscribed for more than a year with this company. With the help of Shopify AI I could finally cancel the subscription uninstalling this app.

I do not recommend this app. It no longer backs up inventory tracking quantities, so when you restore listings in Shopify, all items are returned as untracked inventory. Rewind informed me that due to Shopify’s API limitations, they’re unable to properly track inventory quantities within listings. This means that if you need to restore products you accidentally deleted, you still have to manually re-enable inventory tracking for each item and physically recount and re-enter all stock quantities. Given the high price point, the app doesn’t offer nearly enough time savings or functionality to justify the cost.

company violates shopify subscription policy, and makes cancellation nearly impossible. Had to reinstall and go through a process that was not previously available to "uninstall". I have sent countless emails requesting cancellations and they still charge our account. I also had to reinstall the app just to leave this review, and now will uninstall.

We migrated from Bigcommerce to Shopify. Since we migrated over a large number of order, there we some questions about fees. Stephan helped me get everything sorted out. We used Rewind on our Bigcommerce store and we are thrilled to be able to continue to use Rewind with Shopify. Great support. Very helpful!!

Don't use this app. It's fine in case of a data crash, but if you want to export your data with less than 6 months of subscription, they flatly refuse. If you want to temporarily stop your activity while keeping your data, it will be impossible...

I always install this app in my personal projects, and I also have my clients install it. I believe it is essential for any serious business to have an automatic backup of everything, so that they can recover a very recent version of only what is necessary at any given time. All my store fonts changed overnight, and when I asked Shopify as to why, they said the Rewind app had made the change to my site: "Rewind Backups is a backup and restore application, and it should not be making active changes like changing your website's fonts. However, sometimes third party app coding can effect the theme fonts and design." Very worrying that Rewind can completely change the look of your site without you even wanting it. I contacted Rewind 24 hours ago and have not heard back. Their customer support is way too slow when you have issues, especially when our monthly charges have increased from $3 to $19!

Terrible experience with Rewind I’ve had this app for over 4 years and honestly, it’s been nothing but disappointing. In all that time, I only needed to use it once—and it failed completely. Their response? An apology and two months of free credit, which didn’t come close to covering the huge amount of work we lost. To make matters worse, they quietly increased the subscription from $3 to $19 without ever notifying us. We ended up paying this massive price hike without even knowing. On top of that, the app is full of bugs. Just yesterday, our store (surface-2-air-sports.myshopify.com) couldn’t even connect because of an ERR_BLOCKED_BY_RESPONSE error. Bottom line: Do not waste your money on Rewind. It’s unreliable, overpriced, and not worth the risk.

The only time I ever needed to revert to a back-up due to a coding mix-up, I learned it was not automatic and I needed to contact someone to do it. With response times taking 2 days each time, it was quite frustrating. You can imagine, when you need to revert your website due to a coding error, you want it to revert asap. I ended up just hiring a coder to fix it. That said, I decided to continue using the app as a fail-safe, just in case. However, with their recent announcement that they are taking a *100%* price increase (yes, 100%) next month, I am moving on to another backup app. I get the cost of business is going up, but for an app with no COGs, no Tariffs, etc, a 100% increase is ridiculous. Bye bye.

1. prices got higer, but ok. Everythings getting more expensive 2. i tried to import a csv and tested it first. With a few products. Some of them have variants. After I saw the import failed and the variants are gone, I restored it with rewind. After that, the variants were back, but with wrong inventory. After asking AI how to backup and restore the inventory amount etc. as well, it says it´s not possible at all. But on the website it says, this tool does backup the inventory as well. So, higher prices for less than promised. Now I am not sure if i can rely on other things as well... lets see what the support can tell here.

I would strongly caution anyone considering this app. After years of paying for their service, I discovered I had been overcharged more than 50% above the publicly listed plan price for nearly 80 months. The company never informed me of this “silent” price change, and when I raised the issue, they insisted it was correct — despite their own archived website and Shopify App Store listings proving otherwise. To make matters worse, they recently announced yet another price increase, even though the first one was never communicated transparently. Their explanations shifted, citing plans that simply never existed, which only undermines confidence further. This kind of billing practice feels dishonest and predatory, especially toward long-time customers who trusted them. After this experience, my trust in this company is completely gone. There are other backup apps available on Shopify that offer the same features at the advertised prices — I’d recommend exploring those instead.

Not worth it. We have paid for over 3 years and never needed to use it once. Canceled due to a 533% price increase (from $3 to $19/month), with no noticeable improvement in value. Sudden price hikes like this break trust, especially for a "just-in-case" app. Hope this feedback helps others make an informed decision.

We’ve been using Rewind Backups for about a month, and it’s been a great experience so far. We accidentally uploaded a SKU spreadsheet to the wrong store, but thanks to Rewind we were able to quickly revert and avoid any issues.

I wanted insurance that all my long hours building a replacement Shopify store would not be lost. Rewind just worked in the background with a weekly reassuring backup summary email. Until I trusted some AI liquid coding advice too blindly and needed to restore three different templates. The process was self explanatory, easy to understand without any need for documentation or contact with support. When it came time to replace my site, things became a bit tangled with my confusion and Shopify's back-end. Everything was finally straightened out but my new store was not able to be backed up via Rewind anymore. After a few very prompt, patient, support emails, it was suggested a zoom call would be the best way forward. It was nice to put a face to Stephan, who had mainly been supporting my issues, and that remote support session put things right; all very friendly and professional. I'm now looking forward to quiet background backups once again, where I get my work done but secure in knowing if something happens I've got a tested recourse. Thank you everybody at Rewind.

There are other better options. Some of our SKUs got corrupted due to an incorrect file upload. The back-up restore feature did not work.When we contacted support, there was no response. When they need to increase your plan and charge more money, they seem to have enough resources for that. This app has proved to be useless to us. Find someone else.
