What Merchants Think

Overall, merchants have mixed feelings about ShipStation. It receives praise for its functionality in streamlining shipping processes across multiple platforms, but it is also criticized for technical issues and poor customer service. Many users appreciate its user-friendly interface, efficient order management, and the time it saves them in the shipping process, while others report frequent bugs, billing issues, and lose faith in its support system.

Key Strengths

  • Seamless integration with multiple sales platforms (e.g., Shopify, Etsy)
  • User-friendly interface that enables efficient order management
  • Automation features that save time and streamline the shipping workflow
  • Ability to manage multiple sales channels on one platform
  • Helpful customer service, usually via specific representatives who go above and beyond

Common Concerns

  • Poor customer service and support response times
  • Buggy and sometimes unreliable app performance
  • Billing issues, including overcharging and unauthorized charges
  • Troubles with specific integrations, such as with Shopify
  • Concerns about recent decreases in app reliability compared to past performance

Final Thoughts

ShipStation is highly valued for its ability to integrate multiple sales platforms and automate shipping processes, saving time and effort for businesses. However, frequent technical issues and criticism of customer support have diminished its reputation among some users. For those who come to rely on its functionalities, it is a powerful tool, though prospective users should be cautious and aware of its limitations.

Good functions, too expensive

The integration is straight-forward but lacks the ability to configure it to specific needs. For example, we operate a warehouse that both ships and provides for local pickup. The integration will not import anything without a shipping address, so we can't use it for operations (only shipping). Additionally, the frequency of sync is variable. It is fast in the morning, but slow in the afternoon (busy time). You can manually sync, but again that isn't a good operational solution.

Shipstation used to be amazing. It's still decent but lately they have had constant bugs, lag times, down times, stuff doesn't sync right. It's still worth the money but barely.
