They will incorrectly overcharge you for a shipment 6 months ago, then claim its bast the dispute window when you reach out to them about it, they literally stole thousands

Shipstation has a stranglehold on shipping, so I still use them for some things. But they are exceedingly bad. For example, 19 days ago Shipstation changed international shipping defaults so that I am now covering duties and taxes for international shipments. But, they did not notify me or my team of this setting being defaulted to "on" all the time. The result is that I have accidentally incurred massive costs that were meant to be paid by my customers and that I did not account for. I'm still waiting on invoices to come in from my couriers to see what the total loss is. I contacted their support and they showed me how to turn this off. But when I asked about why it was set to on for 19 days, and why no one notified me of this critical change to defaults; the best I got was an apology. I wonder how many users are unwittingly incurring these fees. The setting is burried well below the customs declaration in an area with obscure an infrequently used settings, so I suspect that many users are not aware.

We loved Shipstation until the tariffs came into play. Having no way to upload customs documents for our CUSMA/USCMA compliant items is a total deal breaker. We tried to be patient and wait for a solution but they have done nothing about it when most of their competitors have.

If given the option, I would immediately discontinue using ShipStation. The platform suffers from persistent bugs and an ineffective support team that consistently fails to resolve reported issues. In recent experience, even basic functionality—such as real-time synchronization with Shopify—frequently ceases without warning. No alerts or notifications are provided when sync failures occur, forcing users to detect problems reactively, often the following day. Manual intervention is then required to restore synchronization. Overall, ShipStation delivers a highly unreliable and poorly maintained software solution that falls far below acceptable standards for e-commerce integration tools.

ShipStation is THE WORST. I don't know if there are alternatives, but I loathe them to my bones. When you have an issue, you chat with someone that is EASL and each chat response takes 13-24 minutes. EACH RESPONSE. So when you have to chat for help, the roundrip costs you ALL DAY and the prize at the end is zero resolution to the problem because all they're doing is reading through the help documentation, which is where you started. SO MUCH HATE FOR SHIPSTATION. UGH.

Beware, Beware, Beware! This morning, I added $550 to my ShipStation balance to purchase shipping labels for our orders. Shortly after, the company triple-charged our account, taking an additional $1,100. I reached out to their support team and provided proof of the unauthorized charges — each transaction clearly lists ShipStation in the description. Now, Shopify is investigating them for these unauthorized withdrawals. After further review, I discovered that other businesses have also been affected by ShipStation overcharging their accounts.

I cancelled our service more than 3 weeks ago and Shipstation continue to charge my credit card without my authority. Very buggy would not recommend using this as a shipping platform at all. Support is overseas and script based and they aren't able to resolve issues which cause delay in shipping orders.

Thier software glitched (reviewed and admitted by the support staff) which removed a decimal point. This resulted in a customs charge being drawn from our bank account of almost $6000 instead of $60. They refuse to rectify or return the money.

Ship Station is pure garbage. It only works occasionally. I have fixed it many times, the so called tech support has "fixed" it many times and at this point I gave up quite some time ago but yet I pay for it. I'm in process of shutting down the site after I have a huge sale to move the product in house out and I can honestly say I will be thrilled to see the last of Ship Station, the non working app that I can be rid of and not charged every month for absolutely nothing. Two weeks ago, we downgraded our plan. Since then, the barcodes on our packing slips have been reduced to such a tiny size that they are completely unscannable. We use “Scan to Verify & Print” daily as part of our warehouse process, and while this feature is clearly included in our current plan, it is now unusable because of this barcode change. We fully understand that custom packing slips are not available on our plan. The problem is that the default barcode ShipStation provides is so small that it cannot be scanned by any of our three warehouse scanners. That effectively disables a feature that the plan comparison chart says we still have access to. They are making us upgrade our plan just to use a feature that is ALREADY ON OUR CURRENT PLAN! Disgusting!

I do not recommend ShipStation. During the trial, the experience started off positive. I was supported and even assigned an account manager. Once the trial ended, that support disappeared. My account manager stopped responding to my emails, my account was locked, and I was prevented from cancelling my subscription despite following their instructions and contacting support. I attempted multiple times to cancel in any way I could, yet I continued receiving invoices while still unable to access my account. Their support system is convoluted, unhelpful, and failed to resolve the issue. This is only my experience, but while the trial looked promising and human-centered, I quickly faced access issues, ongoing billing, convoluted support, and a cancellation process driven by automation where I ultimately fell through the cracks.

Beware, they will pull features out of plans that you need after you rely on them. We are on their $30/mo plan and had been using it for over a year when they decided to take away API access. We had a lot of money invested in programs to facilitate shipping and customer interaction that we paid developers to develop for us and ShipStation just pulled the API access breaking all of our systems.

Account suspension without explanation, no support for backing up active data, and no regard for how difficult it will be for the user to manage purchased shipping labels, track shipments, or take any further actions.

This unethical application uses dark patterns to trick you into purchasing funds for a "wallet" that's underfunded to buy a single label, then OVERCHARGES you by insisting you buy a minimum amount, that's much larger than you need to "fund" your wallet past the point you need to purchase a label. Good luck ever getting those few dollars back out of their predatory trap.

User for 8+ years. Shipstation is powerful, but quite buggy, with lots of small issues to fix constantly. Latest problem is they are removing access to their API for several of their price tiers. Without the API, Shipstation is mostly useless. To keep access I must upgrade 2 levels, going from $20/month to $100/month, a 400% increase, overnight. Do your homework and look at other options carefully before choosing Shipstation.

hard to use and rates were not as good as sendle or AusPost?? this is an overly complicated platform which made my small ecommerce business harder to run, and on top of this, the in-built sendle rates were always better than shipstation, and their quoted AusPost rates were more expensive than the actual AusPost rates at the post office? maybe im not using it correctly, but thats kind of the point. if i need multiple phone calls and tutorials to set it up, i dont have time for that rubbish... escpecially if it isnt goign to save me time or money!

Enough is enough. Periodically, for unknow reason, they lock out our account. Sudden logged out, then 'UNKNOWN ERROR' during login, then 'ACCOUNT LOCKED ' message. Seriously ? We do a business here. Shipsations 'security' is just a joke, apparently made by sort of amateurs, they know nothing how businesses work. With no access to the account, we are unable to ship hundreds of orders placed, until kid from 'support' is so nice and restore the access. Each time needs ask for doing that and wait, wait, wait....Ok guys, play in your room with others, have more fan ! After 10 years time to say GOODBYE ! What we can advice - STAY AWAY ! This is not worth of your time and money.

It has become progressively worse over time. Logging in is always a pain, orders are not updated, customer service is mostly non existent.
