I had really high hopes for this app! It allowed me to achieve the 2 things I wanted that I didn't find in other apps: 1) Add a 2-milestone progress bar to my cart 2) Add simple upsell / product recommendation in-cart to boost AOV. Where it fell short for me: -It replaces the existing Shopify cart page. This isn't necessarily bad, but it felt a little buggy in some ways -- didn't always scroll consistently and I'd see the page behind the cart page scrolling sometimes. When clicking back to "cart" from the native Shopify checkout page, it navigates to the legacy native Shopify cart page instead of Opus. -The BIG one: Detrimentally impacted key conversion and AOV metrics. I watch my Shopify Analytics like a hawk and I noticed that the Checkout conversion rate metric was declining and my overall Conversion rate metric was gradually trending down. I had this app installed from Oct 10-Oct 31st, so I gave it 3 weeks. My checkout conversion rate fell from ~70% down to 59% over those 3 weeks and my overall conversion rate fell ~0.5%. Not apples to apples since it wasn't an actual split or A/B test, but it was enough to convince me to course correct. On top of all that, my main goal of boosting AOV with a 2nd milestone in the progress bar wasn't achieved. My AOV actually fell almost $1 over that time period. Again, not apples to apples with an actual split test, but this made it easy to pull Opus from our store. In the 4 days since swapping out, checkout conversion rate jumped 5% and but AOV has not recovered. It's entirely possible that I didn't design my cart optimally with their app, but I did my best to keep it simple and minimal. Opus is a good idea and offers a strong feature set, however, here's a warning to test and monitor your metrics as you swap a critical function out such as a shopping cart.

The support team was incredible! They are fast, responsive, and truly respect your time—no unnecessary explanations or delays like you often experience elsewhere. Vivian, Lulla, and Beeter were all extremely helpful throughout my experience. However, I want to emphasize that an app managing the Cart Drawer is a very responsible and sensitive component of any shop. It’s crucial that the development team thoroughly tests all code changes before releasing updates to ensure full compatibility with the theme and others apps installed. Since I’m not a programmer, I can’t effectively test for bugs or know which cases to check, so relying on users to report issues is risky. For an app that directly affects customer orders and revenue, rigorous internal testing is essential to avoid potential errors that could cause loss of sales and trust. I hope that developers prioritize thorough testing before releasing any customer-requested changes.

This app has an almost perfect UI, visually better than Upcart. However, I wouldn't recommend it if you already have a well-performing store. It lacks functionality despite its visual appeal. For example when offering a free gift after a $30(USD) purchase, it doesn’t convert the amount to local currencies like GBP or AUD (It would consider 30 AUD, 30 GBP as same threshold, Imagine if this happens for currency is like the Indian rupees that would cause a lot of problems, imagine offering free shipping for rs 30). This makes it difficult to map out the correct reward threshold if you are selling in the international markets . Additionally, it struggles to display proper discounts. If you use a third-party app to offer bundles with custom discounts, the app's cart drawer doesn’t reflect those discounts accurately. This is a major drawback, and I don’t think it’s quite ready for full use yet. I hope they fix these issues soon. A feature that would significantly improve the app is the integration of third-party checkout providers directly in the cart. All in all, i would recommend you to actually check out the app it's really great but don't Implement it yet. I will be updating my reviews once these changes get implemented. I believe If the developers fix these issues I can 100% say, it would be the best cart drawer on shopify app store.
