Shopify Ninja POD is a print-on-demand app designed to simplify product creation and fulfillment for Shopify merchants. This review covers its features, pricing, and real user experiences to help you decide if it fits your business needs.
We’ve been using Ninja’s consumable products for quite some time, including DTF supplies that we also print in-house, and their products have consistently been phenomenal — from DTF transfers to patches. Because of that positive experience, we decided to transition part of our operation to Ninja’s Print-on-Demand service to reduce internal workload and expand our product offerings without the burden of warehousing large amounts of inventory. We recently rebranded and are currently soft-launching our new brand using Ninja POD. Overall, the print quality has been solid. Occasionally, we’ve seen minor issues such as crooked or slightly misaligned design placements. To Ninja’s credit, every issue that didn’t pass our strict quality control was reprinted promptly and without pushback. That said, communication is where things could improve. While corrected products do arrive a few days later, there is often little to no correspondence when an issue is reported. As a POD provider, Ninja isn’t just a vendor — they’re a business partner — and even a short acknowledgment or update would go a long way. The app functions reasonably well, especially considering Ninja is newer to the POD space, and improvements do seem to be ongoing. However, there are some areas that need attention. Mockups, in particular, are a challenge. On several hoodies, the design editor places artwork too high, overlapping the hood, which forces you to compress the artwork height and distort the aspect ratio — even though 11” x 16” prints are stated as supported. Some products are missing proper placement boxes altogether, including pocket placements, or have placement boxes positioned outside the actual garment. Sleeve mockups look especially rough and resemble animated mannequin renders rather than realistic apparel. More lifestyle mockup choices would also be nice. Especially for back prints. The ability to remove/hide the default branding tags and/or replace with custom tags in the mockups would be great. Additional app issues include the inability to fully delete products from the system — deleted product names remain reserved, which makes reusing names difficult later. A bulk edit or bulk delete feature is also badly needed. Deleting products one by one, especially when the app returns you to the first page each time, is inefficient and frustrating. Looking forward, there are several features that would significantly elevate the platform. It would be great to see more transfer options available in POD, such as glitter, puff, foil, and glow-in-the-dark. Patch hats or embroidered hat options would also be a welcome addition, as DTF is not ideal for headwear. Expanding beyond apparel into items like drinkware, candles, or other lifestyle products would help brands offer more variety. One of the most exciting potential improvements would be enhanced branding options — custom packaging, thank-you cards, or even small inserts like stickers or keychains. Since Ninja already does UV DTF extremely well, this feels like a natural next step to help brands create a more personalized unboxing experience rather than just a folded shirt in a poly bag. Customer service does appear to be improving, and the introduction of a chat feature is a positive step, though email response times could still be faster. They are also developing an inventory feature, which currently feels a bit rough around the edges, but given that this is peak season, some growing pains are understandable. Overall, when compared to other POD companies, choosing Ninja still feels like a smart decision. They are clearly on the right path, and we appreciate the effort they’re putting into improving the platform. We’re hopeful for a long, prosperous partnership as we grow together — and we fully expect to update this review to a 5-star rating once these improvements are realized.
Love this POD program runs smoothly, I sold over 200 items with no returns. I have tested the products, and they are very good too.
Ninja has been a god send for our company. From ordering prints on line and pressing them ourselves to there print on demand for our store. Great quality, super fast shipping and if there is a problem a replacement is sent right away! Only thing I wish They had was embroidery so I didn’t have to go to other POD stores!
There have only been a few issues with inventory. The descriptions are easy but once you add the size chart to the listing it doesnt allow you to easily type. You have to do one letter then go back etc. it's a weird glitch but an easy work around. It's easy to design in the program but I do wish we were able to do lower sleeve details. Would also love the addition of puff transfers as those are so fun. My customers have not had any complaints!
Overall, the quality has been great. The product selection is really good with many of the brands I like to use. I’d love to see some of Ninja’s other lines added in the future (patches, embroidery, stickers, etc.)... would be complementary to my business needs! The app itself works fine, but could be better. Adding a more detailed reprint feature and the ability to delete/cancel an order (similar to Printify) would be extremely helpful, especially since I occasionally print and fulfill items myself. Overall, the experience has been very good and I’m excited to keep using the platform!
Absolutley the worst POD. Have to constantly reach out to ship stuff weeks later. what they promise and what that actually do is not even close.
Already fulfilled about 1000 orders - best print provider so far. Fast processing time, quality of printing outstanding. Thank you!
I’ve been quite happy with Ninja. Their variety and quality have been top notch. There are things lacking in the app such as auto population of size charts, and a better reprint procedure are in the works. They are young yet, but so far so good. They are working to make the app better, and I have been impressed with their customer service and quality. Thanks, Ninja! Keep on trucking!
I was happy to see this integrated into Shopify. After not being satisfied with other POD suppliers I was very exited to give them a try. So far so good.. great prices, no subscription, great selection of products. I have ordered several things and so Fmfracing everything g has turned out great. The design editor is easy to work with and can easily change colors of the uploaded designs. They are constantly making upgrades and fixing small things and customer service is good. Shipping time is quick also. Glad they started this POD division.
NINJA PRINT has been an amazing partner with my shopify store. There have been a couple hiccups on the way as we are very new to the shirt designing game. However NINJA print team is always right behind me and always ready to fix an issue. The customer service has been great and very prompt. Also, our customers are very satisfied with the products they receive. If we have a design flaw or something doesn't quite go as planned, the ninja team has always helped solve an issue, reprint without question and make sure; not just their customer, but my customer is happy with the finished product. I can't express the gratitude I have being given the opportunity to design shirts for our little store and have the people behind me to make it happen. Thank you Ninja Team!
Since we started using NinjaPOD our sales have grown significantly. Recent additions in the app ( templates and favorites) along with recently added items have made the one-offs much more accessible and handled that part of our business incredibly well. It's only been a few months, but it's obvious they take feedback seriously, as additions seem to happen frequently. Thank you for the partnership!
** UPDATE ** 5 Star Review!! Ninja fixed the track inventory feature and it's now a global option in settings within Shopify!! Unfortunately, I still have to turn off "Continue to sell when out of stock". If you can make the import setting to have that turned off, that would be perfect. That way, if a color/size varitent goes out of stock, i am not updating manually. Hopefully that can just be in your next update! Thank you for hearing me(and others)! Super stoked to have you in the mix with NTrendSic Mystic !~). Still a 5 Star Review ! ** Original ** I love everything you have to offer, and I am looking forward to your evolution Ninja! However, as I am adding products, i have to manually select "Track Inventory", then turn off "Continue to sell when out of stock". I have to do this for every single variant/size/color to activate inventory for your products. It's kinda counter-intuitive; rather than export a CSV, manually edit, then upload, it would be ideal when syncing a product from Ninja, to Shopify, for "Track inventory - Do not sell when out of stock" is a default setting. Or at the very least, a section in the Settings tab to offer integration preferences. As a user, that would be an amazing update I would love to see! Other than that, its a well deserved 4 star rating for a newer service!
This app DOES NOT properly link up to Shopify and track inventory so it is useless. I spent a A LOT of hours creating shirts and sweatshirts just to find out that some of them aren't even in stock! The worst part is that I found out on my own! I wasn't even notified. Very disappointed:-( Just wanted to let everyone know so that no one else has to deal with this type of disaster. Now I have to spend a ton of time transferring all of my designs, product descriptions, size guides, etc.... over to a competent app that tracks their inventory.
I have used this company outside of Shopify and was amazed at the quality of their product. I was real happy to see they had a Shopify store app. I just wish I could tie both accounts into one. But I ordered a practice shirt through the Shopify store, received my order and was equally amazed with their work, for an individual shirt order. Since I have not run into any issues, I have not had to deal with Customer Service, so I can not speak on that. If things continue, I will not have to deal with that aspect. Colors are rich and design comes out as I had it laid out. I recommend doing clean quality designs and not blurry. in any aspect. But I recommend this company highly. I really believe you will be really happy, with this company.
first 2 orders (out of 4 so not a ton) came with defects. as a new shop, and one that is required to reconcile our files every month, we are getting charges from them, with no invoices or receipts attached, or available through them or shopify, as shopify doesnt show anything being charged. if you care about your books, or confirming you are being charged the accurate amount, then I'd stay away. We are a non profit, making spirit wear for a school, and they've been horrible to work with
Ninja Transfers has the best option for starting a clothing brand! They have a wide variety of products to choose from to customize to your brand. The ease of connecting it to your Shopify store makes this the perfect platform. My one and ONLY complaint is, their quality assurance system is nonexistent! I’m not sure if our orders are automatically handled by machines, but their folded into a box or a bag for shipping.. meaning a real person is at the final stage of the merchandise before it gets shipped out, why are they not checking the orders. Each and every that has had multiple items, have been either misprinted or placed incorrectly. For a brand trying to get up and running, this is negatively impacting the first impression of new customers.
I am so curious about this company. I want to love them and their products, which the prices are very low and the selection impressive. Prices are almost too low. I am going to take time to see how it/they work out. I hope it does, because the products, if they and the prices work, it will be brilliant. Example, the Helly Hansen Luna Soft Shell. Set one up on the site, ordered one, then at the bottom of the products description it said 6 minimum. That is not POD. They had the product for less than $50, which was great, but HH themselves are selling the same product for $230. Time will tell. UPDATED: Received my first sample today...the North Face DryVent...VERY impressed. Great jacket ...excellent printing. Going to be adding more products. Upgraded to 5 stars.
