This app worked well when we first installed it last April, but this year something buggy happened and it no longer places the product quantity limits we would like in the cart... at all. So for example, if you place a restriction of max two, you can't add more than two from the product page. However, once in your cart, you can keep adding as many of the items as you would like without restriction. After receiving their below response, I'll add that it's deceptive to call an App "Cart & Checkout Limit" when you can only limit the amount of a product added from the site and not limit how much is in the "Cart" or the amount that is "Checked out". The app should thus be named "Product Limit" with the disclaimer that the limit does not work in the cart, or at checkout.

i want to set a limit so you can only buy one and i set my minimum order value to 1 and maximum order value to 1 and it dosen't work please help me

Works wonders for limiting sample product quantities! And, as a variant within the product no less! I literally asked the developer to add this feature and they did so in a few days time. I just finished testing it right now. I can now sleep at night knowing someone can't order a ton of samples and have to email them the next day instead of packing orders! This didn't work at all. I added one product and tested it on the storefront, and I could literally add all the quantity I wanted. Boo.
