Description

It makes it easy to allow your theme developers to access and customize your themes

The Theme Access app makes it easy for you to allow your theme developers, partners or agencies to access and customize your themes while keeping your store secure. You can create unlimited passwords that provide theme-only access to your developer partners, without the need to create a staff account.

Manage passwords that developers can use to access the Shopify CLI or Theme Kit.
Share passwords via email by generating a secure link that expires in 7 days.
Track all developers who have access to your themes and easily revoke access.

Pros

Allows theme developers, partners, or agencies to customize themes securely.
Eliminates the need to create staff accounts for developers, reducing administrative overhead.
Enables unlimited password creation for theme-only access.
Manages passwords that can be used with Shopify CLI or Theme Kit.
Provides the ability to share passwords via a secure link that expires in 7 days, enhancing security.
Allows for tracking of all developers who have access to the themes.
Easily revokes access for any developer, providing flexible access control.

Cons

No mention of multi-factor authentication for additional security, potential risk if passwords are compromised.
The 7-day expiration period for secure links might be insufficient for some users and needs to be managed frequently.
Limited to theme-only access; might not be suitable for broader administrative needs.
Relies on users to track and manage passwords and access, which could be cumbersome for larger teams.
No clear mention of audit logs or activity tracking beyond simple access control.

First review! XD Even though as a developer it's easy enough to just create a private app for ThemeKit, this method is much better in terms of security as you can maintain who has access.
