What Merchants Think

The "Store Migration" app receives mixed reviews from merchants. Many appreciate the potential time savings it offers, though reliability issues dampen their experience. The app has been criticized for not uploading all information accurately, often requiring further manual intervention to correct duplication errors and missing content.

Key Strengths

  • Potential time savings for migrating store data.
  • Ability to migrate most information successfully.
  • Free service that can potentially reduce costs on paid alternatives.

Common Concerns

  • Issues with not importing images and descriptions correctly.
  • Occasional duplication of items during migration.
  • Requires manual checking and correction, lowering overall efficiency.
  • Some users find it redundant as it overlaps with existing Shopify functionalities.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the "Store Migration" app offers a promising tool for seamless store transitions but requires improvements in reliability and accuracy to enhance user satisfaction. While some users have managed to save time, others find it adds complexity and requires additional steps due to data inconsistencies.

It was very easy to do, however, I sell fabric and I can't seem to find out how to adjust the inventory or the weight for proper shipping charges. AI helped me find the answer but the directions are incorrect. There are no shipping options listed when I activate the individual fabrics. Not sure what to do now.

Took a few attempts to get everything in and this saved loads of time. However, no pictures or descriptions were imported so I have to insert them manually (over 9000) which will take a month of Sundays.

Currently I’m ranking this as a 3 as I know it’s a fairly new part of SHopify, but it’s not uploading all the information it’s given and sadly will upload an item 2 or more times. So you’re not really saving time as you have to go through and check EVERYTHING, this ends up taking up more time than I’m wishing to give it, but I can have 3 of the same item when I only have 1 available. That’s really the only thing that brings the review down and if this gets rectified, I would happily change my review as after all this is a free service they are technically providing (even though the monthly cost is quite high, the price must include this service in it but it saves me paying between $5-30 extra per month ‍) Other than that it does migrate most of the information successfully, I do have to tinker with a few bits but that’s always expected when dealing with multiple platforms. Anyway that’s my cue to get off my soap box and thank you Shopify for saving me some money at least

Useless. You have to export and import a CSV file into shopify regardless. It's a pointless app that doesn't do anything Shopify itself doesn't already do.
