When a shopper's cart reaches that total, the gift is added automatically and discounted to zero by a Shopify discount function, so the checkout total is correct from the start. A progress bar shows how much more to add to unlock the gift, updating live in your store's currency as the cart changes. The bar is a theme app extension: enable it in the theme editor and place it anywhere on your storefront. Theme files are never edited.
