In zone mode you group ZIP or postal code prefixes into zones, each with its own rate. The longest matching prefix wins, so a broad regional rate can be overridden for specific areas. In distance mode each band is based on the air-line distance from your store to the customer, as a flat rate or a base plus a per-kilometre rate. Test any address before going live.
