Merchants have mixed feelings about "Mailchimp." While some users appreciate its ease of integration and utility for email marketing, many express frustration over technical issues, synchronization problems, and perceived high costs. The support experience is also frequently criticized, with some customers finding it inadequate or unresponsive.
Overall, "Mailchimp" is recognized for its marketing capabilities and ease of initial setup, but faces criticism for recent technical and support challenges. While it remains a valuable tool for many businesses, potential users should be aware of its limitations and prepare for possible integration troubles.
Used to work well. - Worked well then they updated. Now I get an error email every time I get a new subscriber. "There is an issue with your stores email integration"They also try and hit you with the fees once you hit a certain level. No more freebie.

Impressive Integration - Very impressed with MailChimp's integration feature. This is going to help us immensely when it comes to product sale announcements. Great stuff.
Integration with Big Commerce - Found downloading and integrating the mailchimp app for my store very user friendly.
EDB Singapore port - Asia Pacific geo-graphical resources can be executed with an innovation Enterprise Intermodal Logistics and SaaS Software extended Supplychain for a remotes environment Globally.
Forces all emails addresses over to MailChimp - As above.. Forces all emails over to MailChimp with or with opt-in no option to make sure it does not .
An integration not worthy of the name - The integration is poorly done, you cannot make any kind of adjustments to order confirmation emails (discounts and shipping methods aren't shown, for example). The shipping confirmation does not contain the actual shipping information - and cannot be edited to include it.To add insult to injury: when you leave MailChimp, it turns out that all of the text and images in the emails you sent, were not actually in those emails but rather links to Mailchimp's server. So after you cancel your account, you'll never again be able to see those emails even if you've saved them or exported them to another platform. A thoroughly unprofessional thing to do!Don't get Mailchimp.

MAJOR Design Flaw on BigCommerce Side that Makes Using this App Pointless - Are you aware that BigCommerce doesn't even bother to ask newly registering Customers if they want to be included in your email list? And did you know that BigCommerce defaults the answer to NO. So think about that...BigCommerce automatically sets the email marketing flag for ALL New registered Customers to NO. Seriously? WTF?! And to make matters worse, it adds them to MailChimp as "Transactional Emails Only". Once an email contact record is in that state, you can't subscribe the Customer to marketing emails via the MailChimp API or the MailChimp Audience Management Dashboard or through an import. The ONLY way to subscribe the contact at that point is through an email signup form. That's fine for a few records but we had over 1000 new Customers before we figured out what the heck was broken in the MailChimp/BigCommerce integration. Now, I'm not saying that all 1000+ of these contact should be subscribed but since BigCommerce never even bothered to ask them when they registered for an account, we'll never know how many contact record marketing opportunities were lost. And if all that wasn't bad enough, get this - BigCommerce DOES ask if you want to subscribe to our emails but ONLY if you checkout as a guest. As soon as you opt to register for an account the email marketing opt-in checkbox disappears and BigCommerce assumes you're not interested...EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE LITERALLY SIGNING UP FOR AN ACCOUNT! Brilliant design...said noone ever :( We love MailChimp and we love BigCommerce but this rediculous design flaw from BigCommerce renders this app completely useless.

Great app - I love Mailchimp I've been using them for years. I use Mailchimp for my transactional emails because Bigcommerce current email templates are awful. The app is excellent I've not had any issues at all. So it's a five-star rating all round.
not good - I have been a MailChimp user for MANY years because they have a free version. Which is great for sending out the occasional newsletter but the automation side of things is terrible. Since its free there is no support. The integration with BC is highly frustrating. The abandon cart function that I was so happy to see is awful. Since turning it on, it send my customers an email saying they have an abandoned cart AFTER they have already place an order. The order notification emails are a problem as well. It appears that is a customer doesn't sign up to allow for newsletter emails while checking out, it wont send them an order confirmation. I will continue to use it for email marketing but will have to find other options for abandoned cart emails and switch back to the built in, very outdated looking, BC order confirmation emails.
Does what it is supposed to - Does what it is supposed to, syncs customers and allows subscription forms/tracking scripts to load on the site automatically.
Just connected - Just connected today and it seems like its going to be a pretty good setup ! We are excited !
Easy and FREE - This app is easy to use and it's free. We only use it on occasion for certain promotions or holidays. We haven't used all of the features, because the basics are more than enough to create engaging emails and keep up with customers.
Money Grab - Using the app will increase your Mailchimp billing plan by 400-500%…The app will import all customer contacts into mailchimp no matter if they have subscribed or not. Even before the actual import is completed, the additional billing blocks are automatically added to the bill even if you immediately archive/delete these non-subscribed customer records. This will happen not as part of your initial load and on an ongoing basis that you will be billed records that can’t be used for any campaigns in any way.Given the significant amount of access that the mailchimp app has to BigCommerce data I can only see that as a deliberate money grab as this exclusion of the subscription filter is not logical for a mass mailer. If not caught, you will be billed onthly for non-usable contacts and if you archive them this will become an additional weekly/monthly tasks to remove any new non-subscribed contacts as they will trigger new billing-blocks.Very comparable to the cellular bills of days past…

Awful Service and Customer Support - Was great, however, the app causes massive errors with tracking now. We spend over $6000 a year with MailChimp. There supports answer....."its not our app and we dont know how or when to fix it?" We only got that far because I troubleshooted it myself and then told them what was happening. Firs they blamed the website, then bigcommerce, then finally admitted it was the app, but that they hried someone to develop the app. I have never seen the buck passed this much in my life.
App can cause large fees - We'd been using Mailchimp for years and recently decided to install the app. The installation caused our contacts to increase, and Mailchimp charges an additional fee for contacts over the current plan's limit. We archived the additional contacts but were still charged for one billing cycle.
Small business Miracle - Mailchimp has really helped us take our small business to the next level, with professional newsletters and stats that help us to understand our customer base even better. Easy to use, easy to integrate into our bigcommerce store. Great support.
