Use if you need it - This app is not simple to set up, and has very limited support to help you get the shipping rates functioning. Getting the pricing right on freight and dimensional weights took a lot of trial and error. The lower end pricing options also come with very limited functionality, so you end up paying even more for an already overpriced app just to get core features. When they increased the price from $100 to $180 for our plan, we decided to cancel and handle freight quotes another way.

Good functionality, mediocre support & pricing - The functionality works, their admin looks nice, and is relatively easy to use. It's too bad their pricing model stinks. We were fine with it until they told us our pricing would be more than double at renewal for all our sites to keep the features we wanted. They locked important features we were using behind higher paid tiers. Plus, I was never a fan of the monthly rate limit requests and that determining the baseline plan you need. It's nice that they give discounts for paying annual and having multiple stores, but more than doubling our price was too much so we switched to another service. Their response times were also mediocre for us. I would have expected much quicker for how much we were paying. I know I'm not the only one disappointed by these changes, so hopefully they'll listen and get better.

Good program, mediocre support - The program has good features and overall seems to work well thus far. However, support has been poor. Support never picks up the phone. Email support is slow and painful to deal with. Their UPS integration didn't work well and support's answer was to call UPS but it's really a Shipper HQ issue.

Overly complex, help articles are basic and not always up to date - I have a really hard time with ShipperHQ. I have been using it for a couple of years now, after I paid ShipperHQ to help with the initial set up. Of course, since then we've change carriers a few times, and other things have changed as the business grows. Although I don't think my rules/logic are particularly complex (I can easily list them in no more than 10 bullets), making SHQ do what I need is a total crap-shot. New it's live, all changes are done in production, as there's no way to preview a scenario, without spinning up an Incognito session, and cycling through all the scenarios to make sure nothing was broken. This makes for a very nervous time, bearing in mind its incredibly easy to either cripple or entirely break checkout with a rule that's not working as expected.I do know that the problem with powerful tools is that they tend to be complex, but you at least hope that if your requirements are simple, then you only really need to scratch the surface of the features to get things working; that doesn't seem to be the case with SHQ. The lack of updates to the help articles (out of date screenshots, some functionality not covered at all) indicated either a small team, or a product that's not really being actively developed.

Expensive for startups/small businesses - I need this product to enable me to restrict shipping on certain products, but also allow collection, & free local delivery. Currently on the 30 day trial but concerned at the extortionate cost of £40 a month for the most basic of plans. I don't use live shipping nor most of the features so its a concern that they don't offer a pricing plan based on what your actually using! Will probably be moving my whole store to a new platform due to the cost associated with shipping rules for BC.
