What Merchants Think

Merchants using QuickBooks Online generally have a mixed experience. While many users appreciate the app's functionality and the robust customer support that addresses integration and syncing issues, some merchants have faced difficulties with setting up and maintaining the integration. Overall, the app is seen as a time-saver by those who successfully navigate its complexities, but points of frustration remain for others.

Key Strengths

  • Excellent customer support, with specific shoutouts to representatives like Sherwin, Francis, Lori, and others for their quick and effective assistance.
  • Time-saving automation of bookkeeping tasks, reducing manual data entry requirements.
  • Seamless integration with BigCommerce once the initial setup hurdles are cleared.
  • Free for QuickBooks Online subscribers, enhancing its value proposition.

Common Concerns

  • Initial setup can be confusing and challenging for users not familiar with QuickBooks.
  • Frequent syncing issues, particularly with inventory and discounts, which can disrupt workflow.
  • Some merchants report a lack of consistent support, despite numerous positive experiences shared by others.
  • Limitations in functionality such as handling refunds, cancellations, and syncing only a limited period of historical data.

Final Thoughts

QuickBooks Online provides robust integration capabilities for users seeking to connect their accounting systems with e-commerce platforms like BigCommerce. While the customer support often receives high praise and the app's potential to save significant time is recognized, users must be prepared for a learning curve and actively troubleshoot to manage the initial and ongoing integration challenges. Appropriately managed, QuickBooks Online can effectively streamline financial management for small business owners.

mixed review - the old qb app was great, the new update is forcing payment import which we do not want. we swapped to the onesaas app, unknowing that it is just the old quickbooks app. It worked great once we swapped, however, it is now forcing an update to the new one saas app, which mimics the new quickbooks app. Again, trash for us as we don't want to import payments. in 3 months they refuse to add a button choose if you want to import payment. 10 days we have had no sync as we cannot import payments. The only bright light was "Chelle" at on saas, she spent oveer 2 hours online with me , and was able to reintegrate the old onesaas app and get everything imported without payments. Very patient and listened to what i needed, how long it will work i don't know, but all we need is to do the same as the old quickbooks app and current one saas. Give us the ability to choose if we want to import payments.

Old version was great - I used the QB app for many years and had no issues. The recent update of mid-November caused a lot of issues with my Big Commerce integrations. Fortunately Francis at QB was able to get me back to the legacy version while they make fixes to the update. Everything is back to normal and good working order. Francis is a hero. I wish she was the first person I dealt with when the problem started. That would have saved me about 30 emails, 10 chat sessions, and three long phone calls.

3 stars - 3 stars is probably about right. having issues, but haven't spent enough time to troubleshoot. So could be user error. Not as intuitive as it should be though.
