app's name speaks for itself - The name kinda speaks for itself. Simple, works as advertised. Setup wasn’t bad, about 10 minutes to get the basics running, and it was smooth from there. I didn’t have to deal with confusion or extra support emails. The support team is very nice and quick to help

Positive Impact from Real-World Use - Reading about RaceFX's successful use of the Back Order app encouraged us to try it, and we haven't looked back since. what a way to deal with OOS - Dealing with OOS is like pulling teeth out, I just can't seem to have the amount of stock right, and we keep losing revenues on our high value products which take just a week to restock. Backorder app here offer just the right solution, helps me secure them just right when our team fails to notice, and is quite user-friendly to use. Took me like 3 days to get familiar with it and I'm thinking of assigning all of my low-selling products to backorder to clear out some inventory space. Overall highly recommended.

More added value - Having back order functionality is a must for our store, we can handle out of stock orders with the app and get additional orders from otherwise non-performing products. Additionally, we like the customization of displaying stock labels and expected restock time for OOS items, it helps us stand out amongst our competitors.

App doesn't work (detailed review-commercial enterprise) - Upon initial install, errors were abound – products didn't appear, report page didn't render, etc. etc. Emailed customer support to see if this is a common or unique issue and if they're committed to resolving the issue and providing assurances for a working product. Prior reviewers documented instability of the app and this review validates that. For a commercial enterprise eComm use case, that doesn't work (maybe acceptable for a hobby site).I will give this app another chance (for no other reason that BigCommerce's app store is limited for solutions to the backorder dilemma and they're not addressing it with native platform functionality...a MAJOR failure with BigCommerce product leadership and strategic direction). If the issues are resolved and there are commitments to performance/SLAs, it could re-open the door for using the app otherwise, this won't be used again.

Affordable Back Order Solution - Definitely the easiest approach to having back order functionality for my BigCom store. After hours of browsing the community page for loophole tactics and asking for a developer quote to add this function to our site, we eventually came back to just using this app to save us time and cost. The app does what it says on the box, and works together perfectly with our Inventory Management Software on the backend. Great customer support and easy to reach out to

Generally unstable - I really wanted to like this app. Sales and service have been friendly and I believe really want you to be successful. The main problem is stability and reliability. Sometimes it tells customers item is on backorder, sometimes it seem to have errors/changes in inventory on its own, sometimes an update of new stock added doesn't "take" even though it says update successful. I have to double-check everything. Also problems with inventory being accurate when you unassign the products and Big Commerce takes back over. I have had to do physical inventories 3 times now for items I have assigned to Back Order. Back Order is an important feature to maximize sales. Big Commerce - please help Back Order or provide customers with a better and reasonably priced solution. I am on entreprise and feel that it should be a basic feature or at least a feature that isn't thousands of dollars. Another odd item is our skus used to be listed as they are in BC. Suddenly they are now scrambled. In order for me to find something, I have to use the find feature. Not the end of the world but slows you down on a mass update. Support said it was always like this and nothing they can do. It wasn't for us for first 3-4months.

Great added value to our sales cycle - Easy solution to the dreaded out-of-stock warning on our products. We have seen our revenue increased by 20-25% since adding a back order option, which is great since we knew that we could accommodate more customers but was limited by our restock cycle. The app allows for customizable shopping cart alerts so we can let buyers know our shipping expectations and number of backordered products. Customer support has also been on point. Highly recommend this app for SMBs!

Back Order - Great in theory not suited for BigCommerce - Good product in theory but unreliable out of the box for BigCommerce users, inventory levels are incorrect most days. Raised calls with support channels of BackOrder and BC, both blame each other. We have scaled back our use massively. You can spend development time using an API, but this is unclear when purchasing the product. Customer Services is generally good, but the inventory levels problem has not been resolved in over a year.

Happy with the improvement - I've been testing after their update last month and had to say that I'm impressed. Interface and how the app work changed, making the app easier to use. My store has around 500 out of stock products, so it's a relief that I can bulk assign and edit them quickly. The app is also working fine with my IMS (Vend). Customer service was responsive and they added support for my custom theme.

Many of our recent orders are backorder - Simple app. Just tick to assign products and save. We have subscribed to a plan and assigned ~ 200 products. Yesterday we began to see some backorders. I think it's a must have for busy campaigns.
