Description

Connect over 500 popular web apps and services to your online store

Use hundreds of preconfigured integrations.

Zapier provides an integration platform that allows you to automate daily tasks that involve using Ecwid by Lightspeed and 500+ applications (like ifttt). By creating a "Zap", you can define an action and set it up to be repeated when certain triggers happen. An example of a "trigger" that you could set up in Zapier might be new order placed in your store, and the resulting "action" might include receiving an SMS notification. The Zap is, in this case, designed to send you an SMS notification every time you receive an order in your Ecwid by Lightspeed shop.

You can use Zapier to create connections, or “Zaps”, between over 500 applications. Once you have created a Zap, Zapier will continue to run it automatically. Through the control dashboard you can turn Zaps on and off as you wish. You can also manage multiple accounts from one dashboard. Along with creating your own Zaps, you can choose among a range of Zaps created by the community of Zapier users.

Pros

  • Automates repetitive tasks across 500+ applications, saving time and effort.
  • Allows for the seamless integration of various apps, like Ecwid by Lightspeed and ifttt, increasing functionality.
  • The dashboard provides easy management of multiple accounts and Zaps.
  • Flexible and customizable with the ability to turn Zaps on and off as needed.
  • Community-created Zaps offer a wide range of pre-built solutions, reducing setup time.
  • Triggers and actions are intuitive, facilitating straightforward automation of workflows.

Cons

  • The free version has limitations on the number of Zaps and runs, which may necessitate a paid subscription for higher usage.
  • Initial setup can be complex and requires a learning curve, especially for non-technical users.
  • Occasional reliability issues where Zaps may not trigger as expected.
  • Support response times could be slow during high demand periods.
  • Pricing can be on the higher side for small businesses with limited budget.

Love it! I use Ecwid in connection with Shopkeep POS as part of a BBQ food trailer as a way to offer customers online ordering. I use the Zapier integration with ClickSend to send SMS alerts to staff (to alert them of new orders placed online) and to customers (to let them know when their order changes to processing, and again when the order is ready for pick up. I send a final SMS to them when order status is changed to delivered inviting them to send me feedback on their experience and to rate us online (e.g. Yelp, Tripadvisor).
